Promoter offers
A promoter offer lets Jambo users promote your event for you. You set a commission for each ticket a promoter helps sell, and promoters choose events to share with their friends and followers. You only pay when a promoter actually makes a sale.
This lets you reach more people without recruiting, managing, or even talking to promoters yourself.
To learn how promoting works from the promoter's side, see the Jambo Promoter guide.
Setting a promoter offer
Promoter offers are set for each ticket type, so you can offer more for VIP tickets than for General Admission.
- Open your event's Ticketing tab
- Create a ticket type, or choose Edit from a ticket type's actions menu
- Make sure the ticket type has a price. Promoter offers are only available on paid tickets.
- In the Promoter Offer section, click Set offer
- Enter the Offer per ticket
- Click Create or Save
Ticket types with an offer show a badge with the amount, like $2.00 promoter, in your ticket list.
To remove an offer, edit the ticket type and set Offer per ticket to 0.
Choosing an amount
The offer comes out of your share of the ticket price. It's never added to what the buyer pays.
Your offer can't be more than what you earn on the ticket after pay splits. If it is, you'll see Promoter offer must be within your earnings on this ticket.
The Money flow summary at the bottom of the editor shows the offer as Promoter (max) and what you'd net if a promoter makes the sale. See the Fees and pricing guide.
For example, for a $10 ticket you might offer $2. When a promoter sells one, you keep $8. When someone buys without a promoter's link, you keep the full $10.
Who promotes your event
Once a ticket type has an offer, promoters can find your event when they browse upcoming events with promoter offers in the Jambo app. Promoters also see your offer next to the ticket price when they open your event.
How sales are credited to a promoter
When a promoter shares your event, their link is tied to their profile. If someone buys tickets after using that link, the sale is credited to that promoter:
- If someone uses several promoters' links, the most recent link gets the credit.
- If too much time passes between using the link and buying (about 30 minutes), the sale may not be credited.
- Promoters can't earn commission on their own purchases.
When a sale is credited, you pay the offer for each ticket of that type in the order. Jambo keeps 10% of the offer, and the promoter receives the other 90%.
When a sale isn't credited to a promoter, you keep the full amount.
Only paid tickets earn commission. Complimentary tickets and bonus tickets never pay a promoter offer.
Tracking promoter spending
Your event's Overview tab shows Promoter Payouts, the total you've paid promoters for that event. Your Earnings on the same tab is shown after promoter payouts and pay splits.
Refunds
When you refund a ticket that was sold by a promoter, the promoter keeps their commission. Your organization covers the full ticket price for the refund, including the promoter's commission. See the Managing attendees and refunds guide.
