Managing attendees and refunds
Your event's Attendees tab in the Jambo Dash shows who's interested in your event, who has tickets, and every ticket that's been issued. It's also where you refund tickets.
The Attendees tab
At the top, you'll see three numbers:
- Tickets Sold: how many tickets have been issued, including complimentary and bonus tickets
- Unique Customers: how many people have tickets
- Interested: how many people marked themselves as interested in your event
Below that, switch between three views.
Interested
Everyone who marked your event as interested, with the date they did. People who get tickets are automatically marked as interested too.
Use this to see how much buzz your event has, even before tickets sell. You can send these people updates from the Messaging tab.
Customers
Everyone who has tickets, with:
- Tickets Acquired: how many tickets they have for this event
- Total Spend: the total ticket price they've paid, not including service fees or sales tax
All Tickets
Every individual ticket, with:
- Person: who holds the ticket. Tickets reserved for someone who hasn't joined Jambo yet show their phone number and Reserved via phone number.
- Ticket Type
- Price: what they paid for it. Complimentary tickets show Complimentary, and bonus tickets show BOGO. Refunded tickets show Refunding while the refund is processing, then Refunded. Hover over Refunded to see when it was issued.
- Acquired: the date they got the ticket
- Status: Ready to Scan, Used (with the time it was scanned), or Pending Registration
From a ticket's actions menu, you can also mark it as used or unused. See the Scanning tickets guide.
Searching
Use the Search people... box to filter the current view by name or username. In All Tickets, you can also search by phone number to find tickets reserved for someone who isn't on Jambo yet.
Refunding tickets
You can refund paid tickets from the All Tickets view. Each ticket is refunded in full. There's no option for partial refunds.
Refunding one ticket
- Go to your event's Attendees tab and click All Tickets
- Click the actions menu on the ticket
- Click Refund
- Review the details and click Confirm Refund
Refunding several tickets at once
- In All Tickets, check the box next to each ticket you want to refund
- Click Refund X tickets in the bar that appears above the list
- Review the details and click Confirm Refund
Only paid tickets that haven't been refunded yet are included. Click Clear Selection to start over.
What the buyer gets back
The buyer is refunded the ticket price plus the sales tax they paid on that ticket, back to their original payment method. The service fee isn't refunded.
The ticket shows Refunding while the refund is processing, then Refunded once it's done.
Refunding a ticket doesn't stop it from being scanned. To make sure a refunded ticket can't be used to get in, choose Mark as Used from its actions menu after you refund it.
The Dash doesn't send the buyer a message about the refund, so let them know it's on the way.
Who pays for a refund
Refunds come out of the money you've earned from the event:
- Your share: the money you received for the ticket is taken back.
- Pay splits: each organization you split with returns its share of that ticket. See the Pay splits guide.
- Promoter commission: if a promoter sold the ticket, they keep their commission. Your organization covers that amount, so for that ticket you pay back the full ticket price minus pay splits.
- Service fee and sales tax: Jambo keeps the service fee. The sales tax is returned to the buyer by Jambo.
When your event balance is too low
Your earnings from an event stay available for refunds until the event is finalized. If you don't have enough from the event to cover a refund, for example because a promoter's commission came out of your share, the refund window shows:
- Host Balance: what you currently have from this event
- Total Required: what the refund will cost you
- Shortfall: the difference you need to pay
- Processing Fee: the card processing fee on that payment (2.9% + $0.30)
- Total Payment: the shortfall plus the processing fee
Enter a payment method and click Pay & Confirm Refund to pay the difference and issue the refund.
What can't be refunded
- Free tickets, complimentary tickets, and bonus tickets
- Tickets that are already refunded or being refunded
- Tickets for a finalized event. Events are finalized about three days after they end, so issue any refunds before then.
Refunding a ticket doesn't put it back on sale. It still counts toward the ticket type's Sold count. If you want to sell more, raise the ticket type's Total Availability.
