Managing hosts
Once you've created a host, its page in the Jambo Dash is where you keep its public profile up to date, see its events at a glance, and post updates for attendees.
New to hosts? Start with the Creating a host guide.
Your hosts list
Click Hosts & Venues in the left sidebar to see every host your organization manages.
- Search by name using the search box.
- Filter the list with All, Venues (hosts with an address, where events can be held), or No address (hosts like performers, promoters, or brands).
- Switch views between List and Map.
Hosts with an address have a green Venue badge.
Map view
The map shows a pin for each of your hosts that has an address. Click a pin to open that host in a new tab. Hosts without an address can't be placed on the map, so a note below it tells you how many are left off.
The host page
Click a host's name to open its page. Here's what you'll find.
Profile
The top of the page shows the host's cover image, name, and the details attendees see: Address, Phone, and Description. If a detail is missing, click the link in its place (like Add a phone number) to fill it in.
- View on Jambo opens the host's public page, where attendees can see all of its upcoming events.
- Share gives you a link and a QR code for the host's page, handy for social media, flyers, or a sign at the door.
Events
The Events panel lists every event at this host, whether it's the host, the venue, or both. Switch between Upcoming (soonest first) and Past (most recent first).
Each event shows its date and time, plus who else is involved: Hosted by [host] when another host puts on an event at your venue, or At [venue] when your host's event takes place somewhere else. Drafts and private events are labeled Draft and Private.
Click an event to open it, or click New to create an event with this host already filled in. If the host is a venue, it's filled in as the venue too.
Event coverage
The Event coverage panel shows how busy the next four weeks look. Green is three or more events in a week, amber is at least one, and red is an empty week. Use it to spot gaps in your calendar before they happen.
Host posts
Posts let you share updates, like a lineup announcement or a weekly special, on the host's page in the Jambo app.
- In the Host Posts panel, click New
- Choose Image to upload a picture, or Text to write a short message (up to 170 characters)
- Click Create
To remove a post, click the red delete icon on it and confirm. Deleting a post can't be undone.
Ticket scanners
The Ticket scanners panel lets you choose who can scan tickets at this host's events. See the Scanning tickets guide.
Editing a host
- Open the host's page and click Edit, or choose Edit from the actions menu on the Hosts & Venues list
- Update any of the details:
- Address: search for the place by business name or address. Adding an address makes the host a venue, so events can be held there.
- Name: what attendees see on your events
- Description: a short introduction, shown on the host page
- Contact phone number: visible to attendees for quick questions
- Cover image
- Click Save
To change just the cover image, you can also click Change image on the cover at the top of the host page.
Each place can only have one host on Jambo. If you pick an address that already belongs to another host, you'll see This address already has a host. Click View [host] to look at it, or Pick a different address.
Deleting a host
- On the Hosts & Venues list, open the actions menu next to the host
- Click Delete and confirm
Deleting a host removes its page, posts, and ticket scanners. This can't be undone.
You can't delete a host that's the host or venue of any events. If you try, you'll see It still has events. Click See its events to find them, then move or delete those events first.
Hosts managed by someone else
You can open the page of any host on Jambo, but you can only edit the ones your organization manages.
- Another organization manages this page: you can still hold events here by choosing it as the venue, and those events show up on its page. Editing its details and adding ticket scanners are up to whoever manages it. If it should be yours, contact us at [email protected].
- Nobody manages this page yet: if it's your business, click Claim this page to start managing it. See the Creating a host guide.
