Moving from Eventbrite? Instead of retyping your events one by one, you can bring your upcoming Eventbrite events into Jambo in a few clicks, ticket types and prices included.

- Everything is imported as a **draft**, so nothing goes live until you publish it.
- Your Eventbrite listings stay exactly as they are. Jambo only reads your public Eventbrite pages and never changes anything on Eventbrite.

# Before you start

You'll need the link to your **Eventbrite organizer page**. On Eventbrite, it's under your organizer profile, and it looks like `https://www.eventbrite.com/o/your-name-123456`. A link to a single event won't work.

The Eventbrite import is part of the **Add your events** step of the getting-started checklist, so it's available while your organization doesn't have any events yet. You can also reach it from the **Import from Eventbrite** button on your empty **Events** page. See the **Getting started checklist** guide.

# Importing your events

## 1. Find your events

1. Click **Get started** in the left sidebar
2. In the **Add your events** step, find **Bring them over from Eventbrite**
3. Paste your link into **Paste your Eventbrite organizer page**
4. Click **Find my events**

Jambo reads your Eventbrite page. This usually only takes a moment.

:::hint{type="info"}
If you came to Jambo from one of our emails, your Eventbrite page may already be filled in for you. Check that the name shown is yours and click **Find my events**. If it's not you, click **Not you? Use a different Eventbrite page**.
:::

## 2. Review what was found

Next, you'll see a list of every upcoming event on your Eventbrite page, with how many are ready to import.

Some events can't be brought over. They're dimmed and marked **Skipped**, with the reason listed below the list:

- **Cancelled on Eventbrite.**
- **Online event. Jambo events need a venue.**
- **Eventbrite doesn't list a venue for this event.**

## 3. Confirm who's hosting

Under **Who's hosting?**, tell Jambo which host your events belong to. The host is the name and picture attendees see on your events. Jambo suggests one of two options based on your events:

- **All your events are at the same place:** that venue becomes the host. Search for it in **Your venue** to confirm it. Jambo fills in its best guess to get you started.
- **Your events are at a few different places:** you're the host, and each event keeps its own venue. Pick one of your hosts in **Your host profile**, or create a new one.

Then click **Import \[number] events**.

:::hint{type="warning"}
If you see **That venue is already claimed**, another organization on Jambo manages that venue. Pick a different venue, or contact us at [support@jambo.app](mailto\:support@jambo.app) and we'll sort it out.
:::

If you pick a venue that's already on Jambo but nobody manages yet, your organization takes it over automatically. To learn more about hosts and venues, see the **Creating a host** guide.

## 4. Watch the progress

Jambo now imports your events one at a time. The progress bar shows how many have been imported, skipped, or failed.

You don't have to wait on this page. You can close it, keep working in the Dash, or come back tomorrow. Your progress is saved.

If something needs a look, it's listed under **Needs your attention** with the reason. If any events failed, click **Retry \[number] failed** to try them again.

## 5. Review and publish

When the import is done, you'll see **Import finished**. Your events are saved as drafts, so nobody can see them yet.

- Click **Review my events** to check each event before publishing it. This is recommended.
- Or click **Publish all \[number] now** to publish every imported event at once.

:::hint{type="danger"}
Check your ticket types before you publish. Capacity always comes across as **unlimited**, so set your own limit on any ticket type that has one, or you could sell more tickets than you have.
:::

# Coming back to an unfinished import

If you leave before the import is finished, Jambo keeps your place:

- The progress strip at the top of every page shows **Your import is waiting on you** (with **Finish import**) if you still need to confirm the host, or **Importing your events** (with **View progress**) while it's running.
- In the getting-started checklist, the **Add your events** step shows your import with a **Pick up where you left off** button.

Clicking **Cancel** on the host step only takes you back to your events. The import stays waiting for you until you confirm a host.

# What gets imported

For each event:

- Name and description
- Start and end date and time, in the event's time zone
- Cover image
- Venue
- Ticket types, with their names, prices, and descriptions

Prices come across as the face value you set on Eventbrite. Eventbrite's own fees and taxes aren't included, so a $15 ticket on Eventbrite is a $15 ticket on Jambo.

# What doesn't come across

Some things can't be imported, so review your events before publishing. See the **Setting up ticket types** guide for how to change capacity and open or close ticket types.

- **Capacity is unlimited.** Eventbrite only shows how many tickets are left, not how many you started with. Set your own limit on any ticket type that has one.
- **Sale start and end dates don't come across.** Ticket types that were on sale on Eventbrite are open on Jambo. Any ticket type that wasn't already selling on Eventbrite is closed until you open it.
- **Long ticket descriptions are shortened** to 150 characters. Worth a read if yours were detailed.
- **Recurring events:** only the next upcoming date is imported. The progress page tells you how many other dates there are, so you can duplicate the event in Jambo for each one.
- **Past events** aren't imported, only upcoming ones.
